My siblings and I used Gehrig-Stitt Chapel twice in the past few years, both in 2013 and again 2015 for our parents. Everything was handled professionally and I don't think his prices were out of line. There was NO pressure to purchase anything we didn't want, but we did have an idea of what we wanted as far as a casket and vault. After our mom passed and our dad moved to Lincoln, Nebraska Mr. Stitt let us know that we should call him first when Dad passed to avoid extra charges that would be incurred by calling someone in Lincoln first. He was able to pick up Dad and get him brought to Sidney. Everything went smoothly and we appreciated Mr. Stitt's advise when we had no idea what we were doing. I have talked to my siblings and we were all pleased with Gehrig and Stitt.

If I could put 0 stars I would trust me this place won’t be here much longer they definitely do shady stuff especially when it comes to cremation they will let anybody forge Signatures I had a family member die and his girlfriend that wasn’t married to him or had any legal obligations to anything go there get him cremated take the human remains auction off all his personal property and they have no record of anything pretty weird small town. it’s all right won’t be here much longer. Thanks Gordy and Koby you must of forgot the calls were all recorded today so be prepared

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
