Questions about a veteran's benefits

We can't answer eligibility, benefit or claim questions about a particular veteran. VA and Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) do that, at no charge. Start here:

• VA benefits line: 800-827-1000 · Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET
• National Cemetery Scheduling Office: 800-535-1117 · Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET
• A local Veterans Service Officer: ask at a VFW, American Legion, AMVETS or DAV post, or your county veterans office. VSOs file claims and appeals at no charge.

Correcting a page

If a funeral home, cemetery or article page has something wrong, send us:

• The page address (for example, /cemetery/alabama-national-cemetery-montevallo-al).
• The sentence you think is wrong, copied from the page.
• What it should say, with a source if you have one: a VA.gov page, the cemetery's own website or your state veterans affairs department.
• Your name and email if you'd like a reply.

Funeral homes: updates and removals

Funeral homes don't pay to be listed. To update your listing, add to your veteran services description or ask to be removed, send us:

• The home's full name, city and state.
• What should change: services, hours, prices, ownership or removal.
• A contact at the home we can check against, usually the funeral director's email.
