My husband Daryl and I had preplanned his and the big stuff for my funerals, knowing he had terminal cancer. As the saying goes - "make all the plans you want God is ALWAYS in control!" Our Pastor took a call to another congregation, the week Daryl passed our Legion Post already had a big funeral on Saturday, Zabka and our small community had big funerals and we got a big snow storm. So we had to change churches, bring in a Pastor and wait 13 days to have Daryl's funeral. A complete nightmare for me. I received so much support - above and beyond from the entire Zabka family! 💕💕 I am so very grateful for everything they did during this incredibly difficult time. Daryl's visitation and funeral were both everything he deserved. Lisa. Stevens

Stated live stream would be available for the funeral. It did not load, so missed the funeral. Very disappointing.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
