What families have said

The employees handled my dad with care and dignity. They were kind, courteous, and respectful. They had a special American flag wrap for him at the time of removal because he was a veteran. They explained everything well to my mom and I and weren't at all pushy. Exemplary job. I will definitely trust them with my family members' final care in the future and have already recommended their services. Robin was our funeral director, and she and Kate went above and beyond for us at a very difficult time.

I am a licensed funeral director in the state of WA. When my grandmother passed away in another state THIS is the funeral home i choose to assist. We had my grandmother sent to us from California to be buried with my grandfather at the National Cemetery. Take it from someone that knows... they are the best, they have the CLEANEST sheltering areas (something the public doesnt see) and they will treat you and your family with kindness and respect.

Updated: The transportation crew was a third party contractor and has since apologized and made adjustments to the way that they honour the wishes of the people we are caring for. There is a way to honor decedents and a way to follow health conscious and safe protocol. I appreciate James for thinking about the ways that changes could be made and reaching back out to have a conversation about it. Because of that I am adjusting and updating this review. Original Review: Two transportation folks came to our door without calling with an ETA, walked in, didn’t say hello or introduce themselves. Not even a sorry for your loss. When I asked them if they had shoe covers, the woman acted like asked her to do something so out of line. I offered her and her husband disposable shoe covers and they scoffed. I let them know our decedent was shrouded, in a legal manner for WA law and we didn’t need the plastic bag or the quilt. He said, I’ll come in a see the situation. When I agreed and said once more, the decedent was legally covered, he said enough with you people and said we’re sending another team. The woman then scoffed again and accused us of telling her husband how to do his job. I said no mam, I’m just telling you what’s legal. This person can leave here in his shroud, once he’s in your care, you do as your company mandates. 0/10 I would never trust these two to care for a family experiencing a loss. So disappointing.

Incredibly disrespectful upon collection of our beloved. They tried to walk into our community home with not even a hello, not a condolence, not a regard for home (requested about shoes removal) and a refusal to have a conversation about process before abruptly leaving saying a different “crew” would be sent. I will not ever recommend their services- an absolute lack of compassion after loss. No family, friend or community member should have to encounter this service. Disgraceful.

When we initially called to start arrangement I spoke with Rhonda. She was so kind, patient, and caring. When we came in to make arrangements she was very patient as we worked through our grief. She took the times to say the right things to ease us through planning something so devastating to our hearts and souls. The day we came in for viewing Rob was kind and considerate. He was very patient with is all as we said good bye to our son.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
