I can't express with enough gratitude the wonderful service that Wharton Funereal Home provided for my late wife. What was easily the hardest time of my life was made bearable by the professionalism, kindness and consideration of Brad and Emma and their it staff. We met with Wharton funeral home because they are contracted with the medical examiner’s office who conducted my uncle’s autopsy. We ended up going with someone else who was more convenient to what we needed, but I would 100% recommend Brad and everyone at Wharton funeral home. they answered all of our questions And were extremely kind and respectful even after they knew we were not going to be using them. We felt as though they truly cared for our family during this hard time.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
