Our contact at Westford was Stephanie, she helped us with all of the aspects of my sister’s memorial service, and Westford also handled my mother’s service last June. My sister passed on February 17, 2020. Due to Covid we were forced to delay her service until mid-June of 2020 & nearly the same day of June the following year, my mother passed. Needless to say, the last two years have been very difficult (inc’l losing my Bichon, a beloved family pet for 12 years). Westford did an excellent job with both services. Stephanie was thorough, responsive & kind. She was also well-scheduled & kept the deadlines for obit; video remembrance & all vendor contracts on schedule. I’m grateful that Westford helped make an exceedingly difficult time a little more bearable. I recommend their services which are delivered with respect, compassion & kindness.

My wife passed away from cancer at 37. I say this to let you know we are not the traditional sort when it comes to a funerary experience and Westford was extremely friendly and accommodating to all the quirky Millennial shenanigans that we required for my wife's viewing. Maureen and Ally were extremely amazing in particular and make the whole horrifying experience as easy as it could be. I hope I never have need of their services again, but if I do, I know where in Bellingham I'll go.

I cannot recommend Westford Funeral Home in Bellingham, WA, highly enough. Rob Westford and his team provided exceptional service during an incredibly difficult time for our family. From the very beginning, Rob was compassionate, attentive, and professional, ensuring that every detail was handled with care. His outstanding customer service made a potentially overwhelming process much easier to navigate. The attention to detail throughout the entire process, from the arrangements to the memorial service, was impeccable. We truly felt that our loved one was treated with the utmost respect. The value of their services is also remarkable—highly affordable for the level of care and professionalism they provide. Thank you, Rob, and the entire team at Westford Funeral Home, for your dedication and support. You made a lasting impact on our family, and we are deeply grateful.

Over the years, Rob and Westford Funeral Home has helped my family through some hard moments — caring for four of my grandparents and my stepfather. Each time, they have shown an amazing level of professionalism, compassion, and respect that made a difficult process a little easier. They took the time to listen, answered every question, and made sure our wishes were carried out exactly as intended. Their attention to detail and kindness toward my family have meant more than words can express. I’m deeply grateful for everything they’ve done for my family.

Westford Funeral Home took care of my family with so much kindness and compassion. Ally, the funeral director we worked with, struck the perfect balance—professional yet personal—guiding us through everything without adding stress or pressure while remaining transparent about the process and cost. Ally and her team went above and beyond, helping us navigate every detail and coordinating with Hospice House, the funeral home, the Catholic Church, and Bayview. Every step of the way, they provided advice, gentle reminders, clear direction, extra resources and guides, and the space to be involved in caring for my aunt—including dressing her ourselves, which meant so much. After the burial, we held a small potluck reception in their reception space. This is a beautiful and welcome place. We brought the food, and they made sure we had everything we needed—from tablecloths and dinnerware to plenty of coffee, a sound system for my aunt’s favorite songs, and a slideshow of our favorite photos to help us celebrate her life. Ally’s expertise, skill, and genuine care made a huge difference, and her intern, April, was both knowledgeable and a joy to work with. Out of the three funeral homes I’ve worked with for family, this was by far the best experience. Westford turned what can be a painfully chaotic time into a well-organized, comforting experience that truly brought our family together. I highly recommend them.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
