What families have said

Recent reviews from families who used Walker Funeral Home. Reviews are sourced from Google Places and shown verbatim — we do not edit or filter for sentiment.

We had preplanned at Walker and then met with them to confirm the arrangements. Parker, Amber and Wendell were very professional and helpful. We had special requests and all of them were honored. The room was arranged beautifully and people commented on it. There was someone to greet guests at the door, professionally dressed and inviting them to the room. They dealt with the cemetery which was a challenged as the cemetery is very hard to deal with so Walker smoothed that over. We also were offered the support dog and we took advantage of that; people commented that they thought the dog was a comfort particularly for the young children that were in attendance. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Losing a loved one is something nobody wishes to go through, but when it happens you want to make sure that they are taken care of and that you and your grieving family are treated with empathy and compassion. Jennifer was everything we needed and more after the passing of my dad. Her kind and gentle presence was everything my family and I needed during this time. She was also knowledgeable and helpful with giving us anything we needed for the service. Thank you Jennifer and the rest of the Walker team.

We recently entrusted Walker Funeral Home, with caring for our beloved mom after her passing and their service was truly second to none. From the very beginning, we were met with genuine compassion, professionalism, and attention to every detail. I was incredibly impressed by the kindness of the staff and how they treated our family like their own. And one of the hardest moments of our lives, we felt supported, comforted and surrounded by care. I would highly recommend Walker Funeral Home to anyone needing funeral services, they handled everything with grace and heart and we are forever grateful.

Walker was a Blessing to our family. They walk us through every step as well as they found a speaker for the service and she fit just perfect with our family dynamic. The suggestions for the service were all remarkable all the way down to the Nurse Color Guard! Loved the suggestion of donating mom’s flowers to hospice. We brought our pictures & memories & Walker posted them all around the room with elegance. The cards & programs are perfect, and beyond what was expected. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye, stood by us, and are still there for us. We felt like family. Thank you Walker!

I was very comfortable from the first phone call I received to make arrangements to the follow up call one month after mom’s funeral. From beginning to end, Jennifer and all the staff at Walker were professional, polite, and accommodating. They even allowed a playlist of mom’s favorite songs from the 50’s and 60’s. They were very gracious and most helpful through every aspect of this emotional time. I would recommend Walker to anyone seeking information or choices in needed times.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
