Of all things to go smoothly you would hope for it to be a funeral. The CD that the music was on skipped, so they had to order a new one from Saginaw. They had 2 days to check that it was ok. Had to stop in the middle of the funeral and we waited for about a half hour for a new one to be delivered. That 1 skipped as well so the organ player brought the song up on his phone held it up to the microphone, which at that time also quit working. It was kind of comical. Who would've thought ii would be laughing in the middle of my mom's funeral. Besides that they did a good job. Made her look very natural like she was just sleeping. Very pretty.

Pastor could not even read an Obituary in front of him . From SON'S name to sisters name and business she worked for. Totally appalling.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
