What families have said

Recent reviews from families who used Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. Reviews are sourced from Google Places and shown verbatim — we do not edit or filter for sentiment.

Jody Tyson is the most insensitive, condescending, chauvinistic man I've ever met. In the middle of my great-aunt's funeral, he told me "you NEED to take your children out of here." When I told him they had been quiet for a few minutes, he said "if necessary I will have you removed." My aunt cherished my kids at every family event and I believe is honored they are here to celebrate her life. I can't believe the audacity this man had. He wanted to argue with me and wouldn't let me finish a sentence. But it was all about him and how he thought my family should act. Also, upon arriving, there was no effort made to direct us to the chapel which was then offered to us when my "kids were disruptive." I don't believe a few kid noises were enough for such rudeness on Mr. Tyson's behalf. Edited to add: If this funeral home really strives for such services, they would have staff available to families when they arrive, instead of an afterthought. There was no where near enough staff present when we arrived, and sat on the back row.

I'd like to thank Jody Tyson for the care, concern and compassion he went out of his way to show me during the recent death of my mother. He was of great comfort during a terribly difficult time.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
