Nobody wants to think about having to plan their mothers funeral, much less when it becomes reality and you're trying to process and grieve all at the same time. But I am so thankful to the Stover Funeral Home and everything they did to help make the process a little easier.. We never felt rushed. Always felt heard. And their attention to detail and genuine compassion made a world of difference. As much as I never wanted to ever have to be in this situation, I'm so glad that the Stover Funeral Home was who we chose to make sure everything went smoothly and to help us honor our mother the way she deserved. 100% recommend.

Marty and the staff of Stover Funeral Home and Crematory delivered. We had a gorgeous white casket with pink roses (her favorite). They allowed our family to gather with Gma and say our goodbyes (during COVID, unrelated). They also toughed out about 12" of snow on the day of Gma's graveside service. It was Gma's way of keeping everyone from making a fuss about her. They followed-up with a call and personal card just to see how the family was doing. The personal level of customer service they offer during such a rough time, is unmatched.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
