“I highly recommend Spilker Funeral Home of Cape May, New Jersey. The winter of 2020 was catastrophic for my family. While visiting my parents in Massachusetts, I had a traumatic accident. Two days later, my beloved mother suffered a major stroke. During my mom’s hospice care, I contacted Dennis Spilker. Dennis empathized with how terrible my situation was. He was generous with his time and was always available to answer my questions, day or night. Dennis patiently listened to me and never rushed me off the phone. I was transported back to New Jersey for surgery and then my mother passed away. I was injured and stricken with grief. Dennis organized careful transport of my mom’s body and was generous with updates. I was overwhelmed with my physical situation and the travel arrangements for my grieving, disabled father. He expertly steered me through the viewing, service, and burial preparations to prevent any timing and financial issues. When I ran into difficulties planning the repast, Dennis helped me find an appropriate and affordable venue. His guidance helped to keep me calm as I balanced my mom’s death with my injuries and grieving father. I wanted my mother’s hair and make-up to look natural. Dennis thoughtfully listened to my descriptions and undoubtedly studied the sample photos I provided. His attention to detail was impeccable. My mom looked beautiful, despite the delay. Every detail of my Mother's service was done with great consideration. Dennis was compassionate about our unusual situation and accommodated us for a late-night, private viewing. Spilker Funeral Home is located in an impressively restored Victorian building with stained glass windows and beautiful woodwork. This inviting, clean, and peaceful setting allowed me to focus on my mother. I cannot put into words the appreciation we have for the exceptional service provided by the staff at Spilker Funeral Home. Everyone, including the limo driver, ushers, and pall bearers, were all professional and kind, which enabled my mother to receive a proper farewell.
