Sorge funeral home provided excellent service and support to my family during a very difficult time. Ashley was very professional and all of the staff ensured that my mother's services were carried out exactly as she had planned. We are very grateful to Sorge funeral home for their support and professionalism.

It was 20 years ago that I first met Lloyd as he arranged the funeral for family at the time. Then, seeing him handle the funeral for my father in law and mother in law then within the last 10 years, there was no doubt where I was going to have my mom's funeral services. When she passed last month, Lloyd and his family handled every matter with compassion and dignity. If you have a strong sense for people, hopefully you will sense within minutes like I did how special he truly is and feel the calling he has to serve families in their time of mourning.

I’ve had this funeral home in my life as long as I can remember! Mr Sorge had previously done home visits in emergency situations that I remember as a kid. He was always very sympathetic and caring especially when things go horribly wrong! Over the past year I’ve dealt with the staff one on one for my fathers end of life. Very professional and caring at the same time! My grandmothers funeral was a few months back and mr Sorge whole heartedly waited at the door to greet people despite obviously being retired. Ashley and Madison also attended her funeral to make sure she was properly cared for! I’ve read some of the negative reviews, and it sounds like the people mourning we’re expecting way more from a business than they ever should!

Two and a half years ago Lloyd Sorge handled my mother's funeral with compassion and professionalism. The Sorge family works together to be sure that all details are handled, easing the burden on the family during a difficult time. Now my father is in his final days, and I will be using Sorge funeral home again with confidence.

I cannot say enough good things about Sorge Funeral Home. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and not afraid to go out of their way to help you in any way they can. My family always chooses them, because there is no better than Sorge. We have had multiple arrangements done there. Lloyd did arrangements for my grandma many years back. He is by far one of the most loveable people in this world. My entire family decided we wanted to continue business with them. Ashley did arrangements for my dad three years ago. I still remember, three years later, how he went off getting me a box of tissues when I needed them, not only at the funeral home but also again at the church. He made sure we were all well cared for. There were issues with my dad having excessive fluid. Ashley worked vigorously putting in extra time and effort getting my dad to look the best he could. Jim helped us with a lot of paperwork and even invited us to come in multiple times afterwards to help us with things that weren't even part of his job. And finally, Aden did arrangements for a close friend's grandmother back in October, as well as my aunt last month. Aden was extremely friendly and answered any and all questions that we had. He really cared about me, my family, and my friend's family. At one point, he saw me standing off by myself in the back of the church crying. He came over, made sure I was okay, and like his brother, he also brought the needed tissues with him. He asked me questions and had me talking about the deceased which made me feel so much better. I could tell he was the kind of person who would be willing to stand there all day and listen to me talk if I needed to. It wasn't apart of his job to do that, but he did it anyway to help me. I also met Joe there who was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. I knew if I needed anything, Joe was one of the guys I could ask for help. Everyone at Sorge Funeral Home is incredibly special, so caring, so knowledgeable, and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. They always answer the phone or call you right back. Someone's always on call to take care of your needs. To them, it isn't just a job. It's not just the money. To them, it's all about the families they are serving. There is no better place to lay your loved ones to rest than through Sorge Funeral Home!

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
