Finding yourself in a situation where you need a funeral home is never easy, especially when it's an unexpected loss without time for preparation. Shuda Funeral Chapel was my first call in trying to Google funeral services and they became the only call I needed. Even though I'm in Arizona, they took care of everything for my mom's affairs in Wisconsin with me through emails and phone calls. I truly appreciate their compassion and professionalism. Every person I spoke to was attentive, kind, and prompt. Even though it was a difficult experience to be going through, Shuda truly made everything effortless for me from start to finish. Thank you to the staff for all that you do!

Jason, Kirsten, Aaron, and the staff at Shuda's in Stevens Point were such a blessing as we navigated the death of our newborn son. They showed such compassion, understanding, and flexibility while we were in the thick of grief. The services they provided were absolutely beautiful as well. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Shuda Funeral Home staff were kind and attentive. I thought funeral homes were kind of spooky and stalking, but Shuda was not. They handled my dead dad's loss with professionalism and a bit of humor, as we called for it in his honor. They helped us with displays, traffic, orchestration and answered our questions on the business of dying. Everything they did with grace and intimacy without being invasive. This is a tough time. My family didn't really being dead would last so long and that Dad was actually gone, gone. Shuda captured his zest and spirit for the living and offered support as we needed it.

The compassion and professionalism we experienced with Dean at Shuda Funeral Home is definitely the best we could have ever asked for. Dean made things so comforting and stress free when my sister and I, along with our mom were making the final plans for my dad. I'd like to say Dean went above and beyond every step of the way, but I believe this is how he works with people on a daily basis. Shuda Funeral Home is definitely the best in the business. My dad was fortunate enough to make his plans with Dean prior to his illness and after coming home from from meeting with Dean, my dad said . "I knew he (Dean) was good - I just didn't know he was that good!" Even my father was comforted knowing his final wishes were in place and knew that my mother would be treated with respect when finalizing everything after his passing. And for this we are forever grateful! Thank you Shuda Funeral Home!

I recently worked with Dean Shuda at Shuda Funeral Home when I lost my loved one and was very appreciative of his understanding, expertise and compassion. Losing a loved one is never an easy experience, and I was not looking forward to making funeral arrangements. Dean was such a sensitive and positive person throughout the process that he helped me with my anxieties. I believe, and others have shared their thoughts with me, that the funeral was a beautiful focus and tribute to the life of my loved one. I highly recommend Shuda Funeral Home to others.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
