“My family has always used Pinkard Funeral Home when our loved ones pass away. I was admittedly anxious initially with no knowledge of or experience with the new ownership and management. Dealing with the death of a loved one is different for everyone, but it is certainly a chaotic and uncertain time. At least, it was for me. I am exceedingly pleased with my experience with the Management and Staff's efforts to give Honor to my Dad in his passing. They were unquestionably respectful and professional, and yet they were very humble and comforting. I can not fathom a better group or consider a more desirable circumstance. The Management and Staff have my utmost respect, my gratitude, and my recommendation! Thank you for being the support I needed to celebrate my Dad's life and give him an extremely Honorable fairwell.”
“So they misspelled my wife’s name on her death certificate. This incorrect death certificate was given to me 3 days after my wife passed. It has now been over 2 weeks and still don’t have a corrected death certificate. All I get from the staff is waiting on Montgomery to fix. Which precludes me from probating the will and closing out her account and updating military records. I have been patient but today I let them know this was ridiculous and frustrating. All they had to say was there is a family been waiting since March and I should not fuss at her. They have not even called me once during this period to tell me the status. Also the night they picked up my wife’s body from our house they locked themselves out of their van and had to get my brother to break in so they could leave. This by far the worst funeral home I have ever used.”

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.
For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
