Because my beloved husband passed away over the holidays, we were faced with certain church service timelines. My daughter called no less than five local funeral homes and Natchez Trace was the only one who would guarantee my husband's cremation within the time frame we needed. When my son and I went to their offices to finalize all the arrangements, Stephen Deal could not have been more respectful or helpful. Indeed, Stephen was readily available by both phone and email over the next couple of days and went above and beyond contractual obligations, both before and after the funeral. At a time when you are most vulnerable, you need to deal with a business you can trust; therefore, I have no reservation at all in recommending Natchez Trace Funeral Home.

The staff at Natchez Trace Funeral Home are phenomenal. They are kind and patient and take extraordinary measures to make the grieving experience as easy as possible. My dad had to be flown in from another state. They handled every single detail seamlessly. Stephen Deal could not have been kinder or more attentive. He even seemed to truly enjoy our memorial service making complimentary comments about our speeches for our dad. He seemed to blend in almost as a part of our family. I would give this organization 50 stars if I could. There could not be a better funeral home experience anywhere! The family of William E. Lum will be forever grateful.

We held services for my beloved wife, Sharron Byrd, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home today. We had plots out at Lakewood we had bought in the early 70’s. We could have not been more pleased with all the facets of services they did. On a scale of 1-5, they’d rate 10. Also, I want to thank Butch Hammock for his work and making everything as easy as possible during such a turbulent and sad time. You can bet, when I’m called home, my children know who to contact. Again, thank you Butch and The Natchez Trace Funeral Home employees who made this difficult day a blessing!

My family experienced a terrible loss when my mother passed away on July 19th. We were all so numb, in pain, and complete shock at her sudden passing but the Natchez Trace Funeral Home made it easy for us to handle the details of her service. They took care of everything. Eric Harmon is an angel and definitely working in the right field. He comforted us in our time of sadness. Every little detail was in his hands so we wouldn’t have to worry about it. God bless him, he worked so hard. He, the other two ladies (I think one’s name is Britney), and Lily (the on-site therapy dog) are valuable to this funeral home and the families they serve. After the service, we received so many compliments on this funeral home and Eric: about how well everything was put together for my mother’s services. I can’t offer enough thanks to Eric and his staff. They truly helped us through one of the worst experiences in our lives.

I don't really know where to begin. I am 55 years old and I have been involved with the arrangement of my loved ones too many times over the years. In my entire experience, I have only felt this warmth one other time in the delta with Burton Funeral Home in Indianola MS. The people at Natchez Trace Funeral Home are all angels especially Eric Harmon. We lost our mother unexpectedly on July 19th. Our minds were in a fog. Eric took care of us like it was his own mother. This man has a special place in heaven some day. The entire staff was remarkable even down to the therapy dogs that they have in the funeral home. Please don't ever stop that service. They were wonderful. I can't say enough about this funeral home. They took us by the hand and helped us thru every process and step. They treated my mother with the utmost respect and the entire family. From the time we walked into the door and met by the lovely young lady at the desk, we were never alone. Thank you Eric and staff for making this process as easy as it possibly could be. Every detail was taken care off and the family's questions were answered and all of my mothers wishes were granted to her at the end. From the Ricotta family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
