I had the distinct honor of working with Scott as both of us graduated from the second Paramedic class and we worked together. After a few years, we both went into different careers, he a funeral director and I a pastor. We’re now a little older and living in the same community once again. I have worked with Scott in a professional capacity for the last three years and the same compassion and care for others that I saw him demonstrate as a paramedic has certainly carried forward into his funeral directing. But it wasn’t until my younger brother passed way that I truly appreciated Scott’s work. Scott came to the home moments after I called him and his preparation and the funeral services were second to none. His follow up and care truly made a lasting difference. In your time of need, Scott is definitely the person to call.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
