My Mom had pre-arranged her funeral services about 5 years before she passed with JVP. Each step of the way, Christy and Chris went above and beyond to make sure every detail was exactly like my Mom had planned. They picked up Mom’s body in a timely manner, helped us navigate a visitation and out-of-town graveside service flawlessly. They were available and answered all our concerns and questions. Please consider their services if your family is need.

Would not let friends see the deceased. Due to the virus we could not see the deceased but we could congregate 10 feet away in mass groups. Made zero sense, also was rather expensive for the lack of service we received. Other funeral homes were cheaper for better service during this virus. And they watched the visitation like a hawk not allowing the family to have privacy during grieving loss of their grandmother.

I am using my husband's account, but still want to leave a review. Everyone at J.V.P. is so kind, considerate, and courteous when helping prepare and finalize funeral planning. They made a much dreaded and painful process easier, just by the way they treated us as a family. Their respect and thoughtfulness for the deceased is also apparent, and much appreciated. I truly do not have enough words to communicate my overall appreciation and gratitude for this funeral home, and their people who helped us through the first days of my grandmother's passing. They are also straightforward and honest, and that can be so rare these days.

Would never bring my family members here after the experience our family received this previous weekend. The man working got aggravated with some of the toddlers that were exhausted and being restless.. and he started throwing a tantrum. Yes the man not the toddlers was throwing an overgrown tantrum slamming doors. Multiple times at that! Being very aggressive being rude when asked by several family members what his problem was the lady working there did a good job on her makeup and just kept apologizing for him. Probably his wife because she clearly didn’t step in and tell him he was out of line. My grandmother was adamant about using them because her parents and grandparents used them. Clearly under different management at that time. No one in our family will ever go back there and we will be sure to let all of our friends, co workers and anyone else that wants a suggestion about who to use, IT WILL NOT BE THEM! We paid a lot of money to utilize that facility to be treated that way!

My grandmother wanted to go through this funeral home bc of 3 previous generations. The staff pretty sure the owner, was absolutely disgusting in his behavior. Grandmother had 33 great grandkids in attendance with very small rooms where the food was. so after several hours the toddlers were tired and whiny and restless the man starts slamming doors loudly being rude and very disrespectful. Almost hit a relative flying out of the parking spot. For 10000$ it shouldn’t matter how annoyed you are acting that unprofessional should be illegal! I’d I could leave zero stars would!

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
