I recently met with Mr. Marty McGonigle regarding the funeral planning for my spouse. Marty had an excellent disposition and handled every aspect of the funeral planning for me. Marty was very knowledgeable and sincere regarding the funeral planning. He did not attempt to "push " any unnecessary accessories for profit and was very helpful during a very traumatic time. Marty was able to literally do everything for me, from writing the obituary, picking out flowers, selecting a cemetery plot, arranging times and assistance with the after service dinner. Marty also had a very helpful checklist, for family members of the deceased party, that explained when the death certificate would be required for financial institutions and other valuable information. I was lost in a fog during our meeting due to my recent loss and Marty literally removed such a weight off my shoulders that I was able to go through the grieving process without having to worry about the funeral planning part. Mcgonigles went above and beyond for my family and I really appreciate it. FOLLOWUP 02/21/26: After a very difficult 2 days with the calling hours and funeral service, Marty McGonigle and the whole McGonigle staff continued to be there for my family. Marty was available for any follow-up questions or concerns that I had. I really appreciate all of the assistance that Marty and the whole McGonigle staff provided my family during a very difficult time. Im very grateful and appreciative.

Marty McGonigle and the entire staff at J Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home are first class. After losing our father they made sure that everything was taken care of in every way. Every request we made to make sure we honored our father in the best way was completed. Our family is so appreciative of how professional they were and how responsive they were to our requests. They did all of the heavy lifting and took care of every minute detail so our family didn't have to stress over the funeral. I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was with Marty even though we had just lost our father. The respect he gave our family will never be forgotten

Losing a loved one is never easy. Marty and the entire staff at McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory made our family comfortable and the entire experience effortless. From the initial contact through post-burial delivery of flowers and other family effects from the funeral home, they were cognizant of our family, our feelings, and were consistently compassionate while taking care of all of the details. During a sensitive and emotional period their team made decision making and the process as simple as possible. Our family wishes to thank everyone at McGonigle Funeral Home for the excellent services we recently received during our Father’s funeral. I highly recommend McGonigle’s to take care of your loved ones.

I am so so thankful and pleased for the care my father received through McGonigle. Their guidance, expertise, and compassion shined a light on such a difficult and painful loss. Ben, the funeral director, was amazing and I am forever grateful for his generosity and support to help me ensure I laid my father to rest peacefully. From the bottom of my heart thank you, and I would recommend anyone to place their loved one in their trust and care.

No person ever wants to have to deal with a funeral home, however it's part of life and we all must at some point. I can't even begin to thank Marty, Brad and the rest of the McGonigle staff for the peace and comfort they made our family feel. They were there for every step of the process and did things beyond what any other funeral home would do. They made sure there was nothing extra for our family to worry about because we had enough on our plate already. They made extra little personal touches that we didn't even know about that made a world of difference to us. They did an amazing job and are the best out there!!! Thank you again for your compassion and professionalism! Sincerely, The Holl and Smith Family

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
