“My mom's service was held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. The staff were caring and thorough in making the arrangements as we wanted. Ricki and Stephanie are pros at this. I'm so glad the service went so well. Mahalo Hosoi.”
“I would not recommend Hosoi for a funeral memorial. From the beginning it was just a comedy of errors. With the exception of Ruby Uyeda and the person serving drinks during the dinner reception, all other staff members were very cold. Our funeral arrangements meeting was conducted outside of the office in the hallway. We were told by Ricki that he would send us info about florist and caterers. After waiting several days we had to call and ask for the items. He sent the incorrect version of the Obit to be published in the Star Advertiser after we sent them what we wanted published. We were not given any recommendations about having a program and thank you note prepared and printed. It was the Priest at Mary Star of The Seas that created the program and purchased the thank you note on Amazon. The one important event of the memorial services was a video, created by a family member. Ruby was very very helpful, assuring the video would work. Also she was the only one that gave her condolence to the family and ask the attendees to keep the family in their thoughts. That is the reason for a rating of 2. Other than that it would have been a 1.”
“Don't be like Justin Sinclair and try to use a funeral home parking lot for your parking while you're out playing tourist. Have some decent human respect and leave the parking open for those trying to pay their last respects. Please report his review as Not Helpful if you feel the same way.”
“Absolutely the worst experience you could have while grieving. Unbelievably insensitive for people in this kind of business. Went across the street to Mililani and they were the complete opposite - a perfect experience.”
“Money. Bring lots. Can’t get in touch with Rick, the director. Doesn’t call back. Got so bad that we requested to change funeral homes but he didn’t make it easy and wanted signatures from all the deceased ones siblings even though the deceased did not want them involved and had given power of attorney to someone else. Don’t trust this place.”
