“Losing a loved one is hard enough but the death of a father is a devastating life occurrence. I want to take a moment to recognize Pat Marmo of Forest North Funeral Chapel in Staten Island. The kindness, professionalism and dignity that Mr. Marmo has shown us during this extremely difficult time is beyond anything my family has experienced. Without going into explicit details, the NH where out loved one expired disrespectfully and without our explicit consent, (after being told that the policy of the NH was to only hold the deceased for 72 hours) contacted Mr. Marmo the VERY EVENING of the passing and asked him to come remove our loved one. Prior to this occurrence, I had ONLY inquired about cremation services, telling Mr. Marmo that my sisters and I would confer and reach back out if we decided to go with him. Mr. Marmo refused the request as he had not received permission from us to do so and reached out to me immediately to inform me of this occurrence. Mr. Marmo treated us with the respect and decency that the NH wantonly failed to do. He could have retrieved our loved one and then informed us after. We felt no need to look elsewhere and immediately chose to go with Mr. Marmo and Forest North Funeral Chapel. Pat was so helpful and professional and really made us feel cared for. Equally important is Emma, also of Forest North, who guided us through the entire process skillfully and professionally. She made herself readily available to myself and my family and made this process virtually painless. I cannot say enough good things about Pat and Emma. I wish them continued success and thank them for their caring professionalism in giving our loved one the dignity and respect he deserved. I will not hesitate to refer Pat Marmo and Forest North Funeral Chapel to anyone needing his services.”
“We are extremely pleased with the excellent manner in which we were treated at Forest North Funeral Chapel. Losing our Mom was devastating, and we were searching for a warm and welcoming funeral home. Our prayers were answered when we met the wonderful owner Patrick, and Jessica, who were understanding about our budget concerns and patiently worked with us in arranging a beautiful service. The compassionate managers Gina and Emma, as well as Anna, the kind and attentive service assistant, made us feel comforted and well cared for. We were blessed choosing Forest North Funeral Chapel for our Mom's service and are forever grateful!”
“In the past year our family experienced 2 deaths, January & December of 2025. The first was completely unexpected and we were at a loss as to what to do. Money was tight and every place we called was outrageously expensive. I had gone to a funeral of a friend at Forest North and remembered what a beautiful place it was so decided to call them. I spoke with Gina who was very sweet and compassionate and worked with us to set something up that both met our needs and was affordable. The day of the service when we got there it was far beyond our expectations. The room was beautiful and all the little personal touches, like mini lights around the flowers and candles etc. made it even more beautiful. They even had a coffee bar where visitors can make a coffee or tea. Everything was so clean and the woman who was the attendant there was sweet and helpful. In December, when we had experienced the 2nd death we chose to have it there again and the same as in January they were so kind, helpful and made it a beautiful experience in our time of grief. They even gave us a discount because we chose them again. I love that they make it so personal, even having just one service at a time makes it so nice. The deacon who works with them is really awesome as well. He came and did both of our services and was a true blessing. My family is truly grateful for the people at Forest North Funeral Home and would highly recommend this place to everyone. God bless you all and thank you for making our time of grief more bearable.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Forest North Funeral Chapel Our family recently entrusted Forest North Funeral Chapel with my uncle’s cremation and a small service, and we are truly grateful for the experience they provided. The chapel itself is beautiful, clean, and peaceful — the perfect setting for honoring a loved one. What meant the most to us was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, compassionate, and supportive from beginning to end. They made sure my family was comfortable, cared for, and never felt alone through the process. Their kindness made everything feel warm, loving, and heartfelt — as if they were part of our own family. On behalf of my entire family, we want to thank Forest North Funeral Chapel for giving us such a beautiful and respectful service for our uncle. Your professionalism and compassion made a difficult moment easier to carry. We deeply appreciate everything you did, and we highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a caring and exceptional funeral home. The Pagan Family”
“A Compassionate Team During Our Darkest Time I apologize that my review is long overdue. Forest North Funeral Chapel exemplifies true compassion when dealing with the loss of a loved one. From the moment my brother and I walked through the doors, Gina was able to lift some of the dark cloud hanging over us. She was incredibly kind and caring throughout the entire process. Gina’s family members and employees were equally excellent. In such an unfortunate and difficult situation, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They truly helped transform my mother’s passing into a beautiful celebration of her life. I must also mention the team who came to pick up my mother after she passed—they were so kind and respectful in handling her body. True professionals who demonstrated genuine stewardship in every way. Thank you, Gina, your family, and all your employees for everything you did for us during this heartbreaking time. Your compassion made all the difference.”
