What families have said
Recent reviews from families who used Fern Hill Funeral Home. Reviews are sourced from Google Places and shown verbatim — we do not edit or filter for sentiment.
“The staff are the very best. From the very start, they were all wonderful and managed to make a difficult time that much easier to bear. I was so overwhelmed but they were so patient with me. They took their time explaining everything to my family and didn't make us feel rushed to make any decisions. I have a feeling every funeral home tells you they care or are the best etc etc but I could tell these people actually meant it. They're honest and thoughtful which is exactly what I needed while we were trying to settle everything. We chose cheaper options and never felt like we were being judged or pressured into spending more. I'm so glad my family went with Fern Hill and not the other funeral home in town. I hope it's a very long time until I have to plan another cremation for a relative but at least if there is a next time, I know this is a local business I can trust. I see why they've been around so long. They're the best and I wouldn't go anywhere else.”
“Always very professional and kind. We have taken several of our animals there and always met with kindness”
“Thoughtful and caring”
“I could have chosen anyplace, so I guess this my fault, I had no Idea that these people would let my dad lay in a freezer for 28 days refusing to cremate him. The attorney fees to get them to get them to comply were significant ,money that could have gone towards moms care, I felt like I was paying ransom. Save yourself the heartache and the heartache and the sleepless nights and choose more wisely than I did.”
“The grounds look terrible and the woman who lives there has a terrible attitude.”

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.
For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
