From the moment they arrived at my home on the morning of my mother's death to the moment we left the funeral home after the service, everyone was very professional and courteous. Gerard was extremely helpful along the way and made sure we were accommodated. Jim Bob was the funeral director on staff the day of the service and was also very accommodating. Brooke was the staff person there for most of the day of the service and she went above and beyond to make sure that every person felt welcome. She spoke to everyone as if she had known them for years. In such a stressful time in life, they made the process much easier.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
