“Thanks to Shanna my mom’s funeral was made easier thanks to her. The funeral was held at Killearn Methodist Church and then graveside service. Everything went smoothly even placing the quilt I left with them to be placed on the casket. It was then returned to me. After the funeral I went back and the grave was raked and it looked like a designer plot. The flowers were placed on the grave and a few flowers that looked like they came off were prettily arranged at the head. Someone took the time to make it look lovely. By law (10 U.S.C. § 1491), an eligible veteran's funeral can include, on request, an honors detail of at least two service members who fold and present the U.S. flag to the family and play Taps. The funeral director usually makes the request and will need the veteran's DD214 or other discharge papers.
