My husband passed away August 22, 2018 after a extended illness. I called Coastal Camden Funeral Home to purchase a sign in book. We are not from here in St. Marys, I had to arrange a memorial service and grave side service out of town. Mr. Smith talked to me on the phone for over a hour. He helped me so much. He treated me like he had known me forever and he had never met me. He got the obituaries in the newspaper in Chattanooga, TN. , and made some phone calls for me. The kindness he shown me was outstanding. If we had not been transplants here, I definitely would have used his funeral home for everything. I never realized how much a funeral home does for the families of the deceased, until I did my own. It is a lot of work. You can definitely trust Mr. Steven Smith at Coastal Camden Funeral Home with your loved ones arrangements. He is one in a million. By, the way, he does beautiful calligraphy work. If you need a funeral home, I highly recommend Coastal Camden Funeral Home.

Words cannot express how great the service was that we received. Our first phone call to them was warm, caring and made me feel that everything was taken care of. My Dad passed unexpectedly and we were not from the area so we were overwhelmed to say the least. Steven immediately took care of everything based on the information my brother and I provided. Everything was reasonable and explained simply which is what I needed during this trying time. I know most people do not think about a funeral home until its needed, but I would highly recommend Steven and Kathleen if you and your family find yourself in this difficult situation. It lightened the load during such a difficult time.

My mom died suddenly in June 2018, and our family was sent into a whirlwind. Mr. Steve and Coastal Camden Funeral Home made a horrible time more bearable by being so kind and so helpful. As a 24 year old trying to figure out arrangements in a very complicated situation, Steve was a lifesaver for me. He answered all of my questions thoroughly, and was such a compassionate and caring resource for us. We would highly recommend this funeral home to anyone needing this type of service.

We cannot say enough nice things about Steven Smith and his funeral home. From the first phone call, he was truly sincere and honest. He explained everything from beginning to end and kept in contact via text message throughout. He helped make us feel at ease during a very tragic and difficult time in our family's life. He went out of his way to help us as much as he could and we are thankful.

Attended a relatives funeral. There was a nice meeting room for family and friends. Parking was good. Easy to find off of hwy. 40. I would have given 5 stars but there is some slight water damage in the building. Nothing to interfere with your memorial but not something you want to see.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
