My family has been using Carmon Community Funeral home to handle the home going services for my loved ones for years. I have to say I have experienced nothing but the best services. They are very professional and always showed Compassion and concern at the times when it was needed the most. The staff are very detailed and informative and always try to make the process as easy as possible for you. I would definitely recommend Carmon to anyone looking for homegoing services

My family relied on Carmon Funeral Home for the services of our father, brother, and most recently, our mother. Despite my parents’ 69-year marriage and our clear intention for them to be laid to rest side by side, this outcome was not facilitated. The core issue is that no one on your staff raised the basic and essential question of whether my father should be placed in a location that would allow my mother to be interred next to him in the future. We had available plots that would have accommodated this, but the opportunity was missed. Presenting paperwork to a grieving family member during a wake, without guidance or explanation of long-term implications, is insufficient. While this may meet legal requirements, it falls short of the level of care and foresight that families reasonably expect during such vulnerable moments. When I brought this issue to the attention of the owner of Carmon, I was ignored.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
