It's truly impossible to express the depth of gratitude for the empathy, compassion, and care that the entire Carl W. Hall Funeral Service Inc. staff provided. During our most difficult and heartbreaking moments, their extraordinary level of care provided us with a deep sense of comfort and reassurance. When my mother passed away unexpectedly in August after a six-year battle with lung cancer, the entire family was blindsided. She had just received a positive report from her oncologist earlier that month, so her passing was a shock to all of us. At 52 years old, we hadn't fully discussed her end-of-life wishes, which made the situation even more challenging. On the day of my mother's passing, I reached out to Carl W. Hall and had the opportunity to speak with Dave. In my time of need, Dave was gentle and understanding and provided me with valuable information and support during my darkest moments. In the days that followed, both my family and I had the chance to meet with Mark. Mark exuded the same compassionate demeanor as Dave and was equally gentle and kind. He went above and beyond to assist my family and patiently addressed all our questions with informative and heartfelt responses. Thanks to Dave and Mark's invaluable help, we were able to give my mother a truly beautiful celebration of life service. The level of care and thoughtfulness displayed by the entire team at Carl W. Hall is genuinely unparalleled. The chapel is designed to emanate a profound sense of tranquility and calm, fostering an environment where even individuals who may not typically feel at ease in a funeral home setting can seek solace and find comfort. The staff was incredibly attentive and considerate. They made sure to meet all our needs, offering us bottles of water and providing comfort during the service. Their thoughtfulness and care made a challenging day a little bit easier for our family. After the memorial service for my mother, Dave went out of his way to deliver all the beautiful flowers to my home. He also took the time to share a heartfelt message with me, which meant a lot during such a difficult time. I wish to extend my most profound appreciation to Dave, Mark, and the Carl W. Hall staff for the outstanding care and unwavering support they provided to my family. Their dedication comforted my loved ones and honored my mother's memory in a meaningful way.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
