My sister passed away unexpectedly. I called Caliman Funeral Services. My family is truly grateful for their compassion and professionalism during such a painful period. It brought us comfort to know that we were not alone and that we could focus on celebrating her life while they handled the details. The staff was wonderful. We felt supported every step of the way which allowed us to focus on honoring her memory.

We had an amazing experience with Caliman Funeral Services. Richard, Raymonia, Dionne, and the entire staff are caring, professional, and very responsive. Our mother/grandmother’s funeral was beautiful. We would like to thank Caliman Funeral Services for providing excellent care to our family.

I can only share my own opinions and experiences, and I believe that I received 5-star service and support when working with all at Caliman Funeral Services. They were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive through out the entire arrangement process. They clearly defined roles and expectations, were always very responsive whether by phone or email, and really did everything in their power to make everything a smooth process for our family. They worked seamlessly with our church and provided every service they were contracted to do. They did an especially nice job on the presentation of our loved one and took care to figure out specifics regarding military regalia and medals; always asked and confirmed with us first on any decisions ,and overall made a difficult time for our family very pleasant and manageable. We really appreciate all of the support we received.

My oldest sister just passed on Monday, Nov. 20th,2023 very early AM at a local nursing facility. We just needed Basic cremation service ,because her ashes are to be carried Home to MS. My two daughters & bro-n-law stated Caliman's Service was exactly what we wanted , to the point and everything was explained very well. I had just returned to my home in Columbia ,SC, from Columbus--so I was listening by speaker phone. She looked absolutely just like she was sleeping, as dignity in death, IS huge with me .Her transition to Glory was very peaceful & the gentleman on duty went right on over to the nursing facility & picked up her body. Great Job Caliman Staff. Thank You.

The most insensitive, money grubbing undesireables in Columbus, Ohio Funeral services. Lack of compassion, dirty environment office. Was a nightmare dealing or trying to deal with them amongst Family drama. They have competitive nasty ways like price jacking, if you decide to go to another service with better options, Calimans will charge you to where you will have to follow through. They charge to fill Urns if you don't purchase their products ( which not much of a good selection) During Your time of Grief and sadness, try to shop around, I could recommend Marlin Gary, people with compassion, sensitivity to Your needs, clean and respectful. Not money mongrels with the stinky, dirty offices and no empathy, over priced Calimans. Two stars was a given, I wouldn't give them that!

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
