C.C. Van Emburgh Funerl Home has been where all of my parents and grandparents have had viewing and funeral services and internment services. My dear mother passed away last week and the complete and total handling of every aspect of her death through to internment was handled by James. Of all the funerals we have had at Van Emburgh's, this was the most efficient, organized, loving, and beautiful. The video created on the obituary page on their website is just outstanding. Respectful, beautiful, endearing and memorable. I highly recommend Van Emburgh to anyone wanting the best services for their loved ones. Five Stars definitely.

I wanted to thank greatly the staff for their kindness, understanding and professionalism during the most difficult moment of my life. Virginia treated my family like her own with true empathy and gentleness. When I first called I was truly lost and didn’t have the words but Virginia and her team made everything so simple yet meaningful for my dad.

Losing a father is incredibly difficult, but the staff helped us through this tough time with their compassion and care. Virginia was particularly supportive and made myself and siblings feel at ease during this very stressful period in our lives. Our family can’t thank Virginia and her team enough for all the compassion and support

When my father passed away, I accompanied my mother to the funeral home for their meeting. James did such a wonderful job walking through the process, ensuring we understood our options at each step. We were able to select what we wanted and was very respectful of my father's and our wishes, judgement-free and with no pressure. He was able to give guidance and provide what we needed to bring our father home. My family is very grateful for their support during this difficult time. We would give our highest recommendation for all of their care.

Thank you Van Emburgh family and staff! I want to leave a special thanks to James who handled all the arrangements for the burial of my beautiful and loving wife Lucy Filho and mother of Iscarllatt S. From the very beginning James was professional, meticulous in detail, very oriented and just as important he was compassionate and truly felt our pain. At the very end at the burial site James seemed part of our family. Highly recommend Van Emburgh and James who was an angel sent to help and guide us in every little detail during this difficult time.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
