What families have said

Recent reviews from families who used Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, Ltd.. Reviews are sourced from Google Places and shown verbatim — we do not edit or filter for sentiment.

They were very patient and caring. They walked my husband and I through everything while my sister was on the phone via FaceTime with us. Before the meeting they gave some things I should bring with me that made the meeting a lot smoother. They took their time and explained what my father has already made arrangements for. He setup an account with the prior owner that transferred to Buhrig Funeral & Cremation. Ltd. Which helped a lot with the financial burden this could have had. I also want to say that the Gathering Place they offer for a lunch after the a service and before the burial service is a wonderful option. I was glad we chose it. We could have memorabilia placed all around the room. And the food was wonderful.

Unfortunately, we needed the services of Buhrig Funeral recently to take care of our dad who had passed away on Dec 5. As I am located in NH, and my brother in Mechanicsburg, they were generous and understanding in allowing me to help make decisions over the phone - they sent me pictures of caskets, vaults, guestbooks - making it seamless to choose these items. When meeting them in person - particularly Clint Black - to go over the details, they were kind, caring, understanding, and professional when it came to helping us make these tough decisions. Having grown up in Mechanicsburg, when it was Myers Funeral Home, I remember them being the same way. Which instills confidence when having to deal with a rough time in your life. I highly recommend Buhrig Myers to anyone - you will be treated with respect and caring.

I myself, did not deal with Buhrig; my mother and uncle had made all the arrangements. I do know that they were very impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism, and options they had. I did, of course, attend my grandmother’s funeral, as well as the luncheon afterwards at Buhrig’s Gathering Place and I fully understood why my mom and uncle were so impressed. Kirk went above and beyond to keep my family calm and comfortable and helped out with any and everything we needed. The Gathering Place was so beautiful and cozy, it literally felt like you were half in a restaurant and half in someone’s beautifully decorated home. Also, my grandmother’s urn was gorgeous. She would have been very happy. I hope to not have to use their services again anytime soon, but I cannot recommend them enough to anyone that does!

My husband recently passed away and I chose Buhrig Funeral Home to do the cremation. Because I need to bring him to another state, we decided not to have a service here. They arranged everything for me in such a respectful and caring way! I was so very impressed. They did such a beautiful job as if I was having the whole memorial service . Could not have been more pleased!

We held my husband's funeral at the gathering place. What a perfect venue. All who attended loved the atmosphere. Just what we wanted. More than 1 person told me it was what they hoped their send off would be like.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
