What families have said

My beloved grandma Edith had her funeral service here. She was the most happening great grandma in Brewster. “The flower Lady”. She lived just up the hill from the funeral home. She was gone too soon. I never got to say good bye. As far as Beecher’s funeral home goes, it’s a decent place to do funeral things. Jeff the guys name who seemed to run the place was alright. The place was clean. Water and mints are on the house. But what makes this place most special is that my incredible, beautiful Grandmother, Edith Hyatt had her final gathering here. Thanks for the space Beecher. Keep dignifying our final moments.

My brother and husband died a few days apart. Beecher Funeral Home handled both funerals. I am so grateful to have had them by my side throughout this difficult time. A truly professional and compassionate staff guided us through the many decisions that had to be made.

We brought mom up to Putnam from the Bronx 13 years ago; unbeknownst to us the last few years of her 97 here on earth would be traumatic for all of us. After a long battle with dementia and stroke, mom passed on March 21,2022 1 week after her 97th. If it weren’t for the love, support, gentleness and overwhelming kindness of each and every person at Beecher Funeral Home I don’t really know how we could have gotten thru it. Our sincere gratitude to all at Beecher Funeral Home for helping us send mom home in style and grace.

If I could give this business 0 I would! If you want your loved one not to "fall through the cracks" I would highly recommend NOT using this funeral home. I called to ask a question after paying them in full and never received a call back. It doesn't end there unfortunately, I had to call them to ask for the death certificates and they were ready, but no one bothered to call and let me know. When my husband and I went to make the arrangements it was a typical sales spiel and we were told that in the cost of cremation they charged us a fee of $45 to tip the crematory. I would have thought they would have taken it out of the $3500 they just made on transporting my loved one to and from the crematory. The cherry on top was when my husband called today to ask if my mom's ashes were back and the woman said " oh yes they are here", we didn't even receive a phone call and they have had my mom well over a week. It is hard enough to lose your loved one and to tell us she had fallen through the cracks is just disgusting as far as I am concerned. It has nothing to do with the cost it is the unprofessionalism that this funeral home has displayed is just unbelievable.

How honors are coordinated

Military funeral honors are guaranteed at no cost for any veteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. The funeral home arranges the honors detail by contacting the deceased's last unit or the nearest active-duty installation of the appropriate branch and submitting the DD-214 to verify eligibility.

For requests less than 72 hours from service time, families can call the Department of Defense's expedited honors line at 1-877-MIL-HONR (1-877-645-4667). See the full honors protocol.
