We are Jewish and when we recently lost a beloved family member we turned to the Abraham L Green & Son Funeral home in Fairfield, based on research I conducted online. (I am abbreviating as ALG below.) Our extended family had in the past used a well-known establishment based in NYC with a branch in Westchester county, but I was not impressed with the home and its service. Finding Abraham L Green was a godsend. Not only is this funeral home beautifully run and perfectly maintained, but Jonathan Green (now the son in "Son") is expert, caring, and an exceptional human being--just what a family needs at such a time. From the moment we reached out to ALG, Jonathan was on top of everything, kind, helpful, and wise way beyond his years. Jonathan may be young for a funeral director, but he is born to this work: a wonderful listener, ready with intelligent and critical suggestions, careful to read the moods of his clients. The home itself is a sunny, clean, tasteful environment. Everything we could have needed was available to us and provided with no slip-ups or glitches anywhere during the process. At the graveside service in Westchester (heavily attended), we also knew we were in the best possible hands. I cannot imagine feeling better about a funeral home at such a difficult time. The Greens have not requested this review; I willingly offered to pen it because I would like others to know that, even in this day and age, the owners of a funeral home business can be everything you would hope they would be, and more, at your most vulnerable moment in time. Abraham L Green & Son (and, notably, Jonathan Green) are truly exceptional, and our entire family thanks them from the bottom of our hearts. We will never forget the expertise, care, and kindness we received when we needed it most.
